Atul Gawande is a professor at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health. He leads the World Health Organization’s Safe Surgery Saves Lives program. As one of the White House’s health policy advisers, Gawande was a key figure in influencing Obamacare. He was also the only doctor included in Time Magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in 2010. With his book The Checklist Manifesto: How to Get Things Right, Gawande hopes to share his valuable experience in reducing accidents in healthcare, aviation and construction with all industries.
